Family Fun in the Sun

Our family-only surf lessons allow parents to try surfing while staying close to the kids, ensuring a shared and enjoyable experience. This is particularly reassuring for younger kids who may feel a bit nervous initially. Under the careful guidance of our qualified instructors, everyone can catch waves, with kids becoming pros and sharing laughs over mum and dad's epic 'wipeouts.'

Me and my friends went for a surf weekend in Fanore and booked a lesson for the first day. The group were of mixed ability and Pete was amazing at ensuring everyone was engaged and learning something new the entire time. He took his time explaining the basics, but also showed a few of us how to catch a green wave. Amazing experience. Couldn't rate it any higher, and having completed many lessons before with numerous other instructors, Pete was definitely the best. Worth a lesson with him no matter what your ability. My very first time surfing and I had an awesome experience with Pete and Ali at Aloha Surf School! Pete gave an excellent lesson, breaking down the basics and coaching in the water, making the experience super fun and encouraging. And Ali was so welcoming and helpful with fitting the wetsuits. FAQ

Is all the equipment included?

Yes all equipment is included, You just need your swim gear, towel and some warm clothes for afterwards. We provide surfboards, warm wetsuits and boots. In the colder months we also provide gloves and hoods

Do you need to be a good swimmer?

Our lessons are held in maximum waist depth water with an instructor in the water at all times. However you do need to have some basic swimming ability and be able to thread water

What are the lesson times?

Our lesson times revolve around the tide times. These change daily and so our lesson times can be at different times according to the tide times for that day. Contact us for additional times that may not be in our booking calendar yet

Can’t find a lesson time scheduled for when you want to go?

We schedule in lessons all the time according to demand. If you can’t find a lesson on a day that suits you, please get in touch and we can let you know what we have available

Can we just show up or do we have to book in advance?

All our lessons are pre-booked. We schedule lessons all the time. If you can’t find a lesson time that suits, please get in touch

What if conditions are unsuitable??

We always run in the rain as you’re getting wet anyway! If it looked like sea conditions were going to be unsuitable, we would get in touch to let you know and reschedule or refund. Please check our Terms and Conditions for more details

How many people are in a Family Group lesson?

The most people you would have with one instructor would be 8 people. Generally our lessons are run in small groups of 4-6 people

Are there toilets and showers available?

Yes there are toilets at the beach and also outdoor showers available
