Surfing lessons are 2 hours long and take place in waist depth water under the careful supervision of our surf Instructors who are in the water with the surfers at all times
Our Beginner Group Surf lessons are suitable for those with no experience or who have already done a few lessons. Coaching is tailored to each individual in the water
With the only surf school at Fanore Beach you get to enjoy the true surf experience immersed in Nature and uncrowded waves. A Blue Flag Lifeguarded beach with one of the most amazing backdrops in the country
Joining one of our Adult Beginner Surf Lessons costs €45. This includes all the equipment. We also have Private Surf Lesson options if you prefer to learn to surf on your own

Our Beginner Group Surf Lessons in Co. Clare are the perfect introduction to surfing for complete beginners and anyone looking to build confidence in the water.
Never surfed before? No problem. These lessons are specifically designed for first-timers, covering all the fundamentals — from beach safety and paddling techniques to standing up and catching your first wave.
If you’ve had a lesson or two before, you’ll still benefit from joining our group sessions. Our experienced instructors tailor their coaching to suit all ability levels, helping you improve your technique and progress at your own pace.
With hands-on guidance throughout each session, you’ll learn the essentials of surfing in a fun, supportive environment while enjoying the waves at beautiful Fanore Beach.
By the end of your lesson, you’ll leave with new skills, greater confidence and a proper taste for life on the Wild Atlantic Way.

In 2024 our surf school is 20 years providing amazing surf experiences. Our coaches are all highly experienced, fully qualified Surf Coaches and Beach Lifeguards
While the focus of the lesson is learning to surf, we also ensure you learn important knowledge on rip currents, surf etiquette, tides and how to stay safe in the ocean
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes all equipment is included, You just need your swim gear, towel and some warm clothes for afterwards. We provide surfboards, warm wetsuits and boots. In the colder months we also provide gloves and hoods
Our lessons are held in maximum waist depth water with an instructor in the water at all times. However you do need to have some basic swimming ability and be able to thread water
Our lesson times revolve around the tide times. These change daily and so our lesson times can be at different times according to the tide times for that day. Contact us for additional times that may not be in our booking calendar yet
We schedule in lessons all the time according to demand. If you can’t find a lesson on a day that suits you, please get in touch and we can let you know what we have available

We always run in the rain as you’re getting wet anyway! If it looked like sea conditions were going to be unsuitable, we would get in touch to let you know and reschedule or refund. Please check our Terms and Conditions for more details
The most people you would have with one instructor would be 8 people. Generally our lessons are run in small groups of 4-6 people
Yes there are toilets at the beach and also outdoor showers available
